Oriten Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Oriten is a product of CHNH, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company (“CHNH,” “we,” “us,” “our”). These terms are a legal agreement between you and CHNH, LLC.
Acceptance. You accept these terms by tapping “I Agree” (or an equivalent control) when they are presented in the Oriten app (“the App”), and in any event by downloading or using the App. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What this app does (and doesn’t)
Oriten is a weather forecasting, flight planning, fleet management, and airspace awareness tool for drone operators. Airspace information shown in the App is derived from publicly available FAA data and is provided for situational awareness only. This includes controlled airspace, temporary flight restrictions (TFRs), UAS facility map (LAANC) grid ceilings, and related layers.
The App is not an official source of aeronautical information. It does not provide flight authorization (including LAANC authorization), navigation guidance, air traffic services, or safety certification, and it is not a substitute for an official preflight briefing. The “Weather Check” status is based solely on the weather thresholds you configure, not on your equipment’s actual capabilities.
2. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Reading and following your drone manufacturer’s documentation
- Setting all weather thresholds to match that documentation
- Verifying airspace regulations, TFRs, and flight restrictions through official FAA sources before each flight
- Obtaining any required airspace authorization (for example, LAANC through an FAA-approved provider) before operating in controlled airspace
- Holding the pilot certification required for your operation
- Customizing checklists and logs to your operational needs
- Maintaining your equipment and complying with all applicable aviation, licensing, and privacy laws
Oriten is a planning aid. It does not authorize or approve any flight operation.
3. Airspace and TFR data
Airspace, TFR, and UAS facility map data displayed in the App is republished from public FAA sources on a periodic schedule. It may be delayed, incomplete, superseded, or otherwise out of date at the moment you view it. TFRs in particular can be issued, amended, or canceled with little notice. Offline data packs reflect conditions as of the time they were downloaded and become stale over time.
Always confirm current airspace status through official sources, including FAA NOTAM/TFR publications and an FAA-approved LAANC or briefing provider, before every flight. CHNH does not verify FAA data and is not responsible for decisions made in reliance on data shown in the App.
4. Thresholds, checklists & maintenance records
Weather limits and pre-flight checklists are user-configured. Oriten does not validate, approve, or guarantee that your thresholds or checklists align with your equipment specifications, capabilities, or warranty terms. Maintenance records and service reminders are user-entered tracking tools. They do not guarantee airworthiness and do not substitute for professional technical inspection.
5. Weather data
Weather information is supplied by third-party providers. It may be delayed, cached, incomplete, or inaccurate. CHNH does not verify this data and is not responsible for decisions made in reliance on it. Always confirm conditions on site before flight.
6. Free trial, subscriptions & billing
Some App features require a paid subscription, which may begin with a free trial.
- Billing through Apple. All purchases, trials, and subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. CHNH does not receive or store your payment card details.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, its length and terms are shown before you start it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial converts to a paid subscription and Apple charges your Apple Account.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until canceled. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the start of each renewal period.
- Canceling. Cancel anytime in your device’s subscription settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions) at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. Canceling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s Media Services terms. Request them through Apple at https://reports.apple.com/.
- Price changes. If a subscription price increases, Apple will notify you as required and, where required, seek your consent before charging the new price.
- Restoring purchases. Use the App’s restore-purchases function to re-enable a subscription on a new or reset device signed into the same Apple Account.
- Feature changes. Which features are free and which require a subscription may change over time; changes will not retroactively charge you for a period you already paid for.
7. License
CHNH grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App; reverse engineer it except where the law permits; or use automated means to scrape or bulk-download data from the App or its supporting services.
8. Ownership; your content; feedback
The App, the Oriten name and branding, and all content we supply (other than FAA, weather, and other third-party data) are owned by CHNH, LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. You own the content you create in the App: your flight plans, logs, checklists, maintenance records, and settings, all of which are stored on your device. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant CHNH a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use it without obligation to you.
9. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services and data sources, including Apple Maps, weather providers, and public FAA data. Those services are governed by their own terms, may change or become unavailable, and are outside CHNH’s control. CHNH is not responsible for third-party services.
10. Updates, availability & termination
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. You may stop using the App at any time; if you have a subscription, cancel it as described in Section 6. Upon termination, the license in Section 7 ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 8, 12, 13, 14, and 16 through 18) survive.
11. No warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CHNH, LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR DAMAGE, INJURY, LOSS, FINES, REGULATORY ACTION, OR OPERATIONAL FAILURE ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, including misconfigured thresholds, outdated weather or airspace data, failed checklists, or your failure to follow manufacturer or regulatory requirements.
TO THE SAME EXTENT, CHNH’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (b) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including, where applicable, liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. By using the App, you accept full responsibility for all flight operations and compliance.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CHNH, LLC and its members, managers, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your flight operations, your use of the App, or your violation of these terms, applicable law, or any third-party right. You will notify us promptly of any such claim. We may, at our expense, assume control of the defense of any claim subject to indemnification, and you will not settle any such claim in a way that imposes obligations on CHNH without our prior written consent.
14. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to operate an unmanned aircraft in your jurisdiction.
15. Apple App Store
These terms are between you and CHNH, LLC, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for any product warranties, claims relating to the App, or third-party intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. To the extent these terms conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms or Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple’s terms control for App Store matters.
16. Dispute resolution
If you have a dispute with CHNH, contact us first at admin@chnh.llc with a description of the issue; most concerns can be resolved informally. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days of that notice, either party may pursue it as described in Section 17.
17. Governing law & venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where the consumer-protection law of your state of residence applies to you notwithstanding a choice-of-law clause. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home state.
18. Miscellaneous
- Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance; material changes will require renewed acknowledgment in the App.
- Force majeure. CHNH is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of third-party data sources or infrastructure.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- Waiver. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these terms. CHNH may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Safety & Aviation Data Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and CHNH regarding the App.
19. Privacy
Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy and the Safety & Aviation Data Disclaimer.
